Luderwa 16 km
The west is the ancient capital of Jaisalmer an important center of Jain pilgrimage. “Toran” or the ornate arch at the main entrance of the Jain temple and the splendid carvings here are worth seeing. The replica of the divine tree “Kalpataru” is another attraction. Ruins of the deserted capital still remind the famous love legend of Moomal-Mahendra.

Sam Sand Dunes 42 km
The rippling sand at Sam, is spellbinding, and allures tourists from all over the world. The shifting sand dunes are spread over a few square kilometers and are ever changing. The camel safaris give one a firsthand feel of the desert life. The place is also a photographer’s delight, and a popular site for shooting feature films. The view of the setting sun is an experience one can’t forget. 

Amar Sagar 5km
Away, an enchanting places beside a lake, with mango and other fruit trees. Exquisitely carved Jain temples enhance the aura of the place.

Bada Bagh 6 km
Surrounded by densely grown trees and on the bank of an artificial lake are the royal cenotaphs with ornate carving on the ceiling and carved images of former rulers on horseback.

Mool Sagar 8 km
A beautiful place for picnic in summer, it is a cool, shady grove, which belonged to the former rulers of Jaisalmer.

Barmer 153 km
A small and lively desert town, known for its hand block printing industry, carved wooden furniture and colorful costumes worn by its friendly people. Jaisalmer and has fortresses to boast off. This place is primarily famous for its woodcarving, furniture and interiors, carpets, block printing and embroideries. The centre for embroidery is the Sadar Bazaar and woodcarvings are around the Station Road.

Pokaran
It is located on the junction of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner Road. It is on route to Jaisalmer and is also a fort town though the fort is not of the dimensions of Jaisalmer or Jodhpur. Pokaran also came into limelight, as it was the site for India nuclear detonation. Pokran is also renowned for its furniture and interior crafts. The Fort locate about 1.5 kms from the bus stand has an assortment of weaponry, brocade clothes and various games of dice and dominoes on display. Fort Pokran also offers hotel accommodation with some washed out appeal.

Desert National Park 45 Km
The Desert National Park is an excellent example of the ecosystem of the Thar Desert and its rich fauna. The Sudashri forest post is the most ideal place for observing wildlife in the Desert National Park. Sand dunes form less than 20 percent of the Park, which consists of craggy rocks, pavements and compact salt lake bottoms, intermodal areas and fixed dunes.
