WELCOME KHIMSAR VILLAGE A water body in the center makes it a perfect 60-acre oasis of peace. The village is surrounded by sand dunes in all directions. LOCATION Located 6 kms from Khimsar Fort this village lies in the heart of the seven dunes of 'Akla' measuring 8 kms in circumference. It is Accessible by jeep, Camel & horse.
ACCOMMODATION Khimsar Dunes Village offers 16 Luxuriously Appointed Huts With Attached Bathrooms. The cluster of huts resembles the local village hutments known as "dhanis". Each hut has a 17 ft thatched grass dome. The huts have independent courtyards, which provide perfect privacy. The rooms are overlooking the water body with the sand dunes as a backdrop. Each thatched hut is spacious and as comfortable as you can possibly imagine. Local materials, mirror-work, handicrafts, rustic iron, and wood furniture have been employed to create the ambience. Independent courtyards, open-air showers and double-decker huts are also pleasing features.
All huts overlook the mini lake, which is brought alive by ducks, geese and gold fish. Sand dunes, stretching lazily in all possible directions, provide the perfect backdrop. The “Sound of Silence” set s the mind at rest as it feels at peace with the world. “Far from the maddening crowds ignoble strife”, you can lose yourself to the anonymity of the eternal sands. DINING There are dining facilities by the waterside and atop the dunes. Observe ducks, geese, fish & wild birds from the comfort of your hammock or water mattress. In tranquil silence of the golden sands sip tea while witnessing the beautiful desert sunset.
ACTIVITIES Other activities include camel/horse expeditions, yoga, massage & stargazing.
Each hut has lavish area of 300 square feet. The interiors are truly ethnic. Mud plastered walls with an earthen color palette. The retro styled furniture is made of heavy wood with iron strapping.
