Day 04 Mandawa - Bikaner 190 kms / 3 hrs Morning drive to Bikaner - it lies on the northern point on the triangle of desert cities. It is royal walled city dating back to 1486 AD. It was established by a Rathore Prince, Bika & came to be called to be Bikaner after him. It was, however, a major trade center as it stood on the ancient caravan route which link central Asia & north India with the Gujarat Sea Ports. Afternoon embark on a tour of Bikaner City; visit the Junagarh Fort, built in 1611 AD. The palaces worth visiting are Anup Mahal, Karan Mahal, and Bijai Phool Mahal. Day 05 Bikaner – Phalodi 165 kms / 2-½ hrs Phalodi is also renowned for its old Jain and Hindu temples which are over 300 years old. The grand Lal Niwas haveli with its many-splendored traditional balconies and terraces provides a magical setting for parties and banquets and its ample courtyard recalls the glories of another era while at present, it serves as a venue for musical concerts and other shows. It has a remarkable library with books and manuscripts dating back to princely times. Phalodi, originally known as Phalverdika or Vijaypur Patan and thereafter Phaluderdika was once a caravan centre in the Thar Desert. Being on the caravan route from North West to Central India, it flourished as a trading centre. It was under the rule of Rao Maldev Rathore of Jodhpur to begin with. It then came directly under the rule of Mughal emperor Akbar, who in turn gifted the town to the rulers of Jaisalmer. The importance of the town can be gauged by the number of wars fought to gain custody of it. The Phalodi Fort is over 400 years old and its renowned Jain and Hindu temples are over 300 years old. The town of Phalodi is resplendent with numerous picturesque havelis from the 18th century, making this a unique heritage spot. Day 06 Phalodi - Jaisalmer 165 Kms / 2-½ hrs After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, the ancient citadel on the Caravan route linking India with Persia, Arabia and The Mediterranean. This architectural in the 12th century by Jaisal, a bhatti prince. Located in the heart of the Thar Desert. Few cities in the world can match the Magnificence. Jaisalmer is renowned for its intricately carved & chiseled Haveli’s (Mansions), which illustrate superb craftsmanship. Day 07 In Jaisalmer Morning embark half day tour of Jaisalmer fort. Afterwards visit to the Gadisar Tank & large houses of the merchant called havelies, some of them dating to the Premediaval Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Shah Haveli and Nathamal Ki Haveli with their intricately carved screens on the facades and the typical traditional architecture.
Desert Camel Safari Afternoon return excursion to Sam dunes for desert camel safari to see spectacular sunset over the sand dunes on edge of desert national park. Day 08 Jaisalmer – Jodhpur 285 Kms / 5 hrs Breakfast at hotel and depart to Jodhpur – the Great Indian Desert, sites on sand stone hill surrounded by a strong wall, approximately 6 miles long with 7 entry gates. Afternoon Village Safari - A memorable outing in Jeeps visit various traditional villages seeing local handicrafts viz. stone makers, pottery, hand weaving and also men in their traditional attire, women clad with ancestral silver jewellery, etc. Overnight stay. Day 09 In Jodhpur Sightseeing of the city includes visit to Meherangarh Fort, drive through the old city and past the Clock Tower near the largest spice bazaar in the sub-continent, visit the Jaswant Thada Cenotaph, the royal cremation site and then proceed to see the most magnificent, modern 20th century Palace, the Umaid Bhavan Palace and its museum – a treasure trove. Day 10 Jodhpur – Mount Abu 260 kms / 5 hrs After breakfast countryside drive to Mount Abu – located 4000 ft above sea level is solitary hill station This holy mountain lies at the southern extremity of the Aravalli range. Surrounded by forests rich in florae and fauna, the town appears as an oasis. The drive uphill along Abu Road overlooks an arid region strewn by huge rocks with smooth surface and weird shapes, fashioned by high velocity winds. The altitude of this plateau, 1220 meters and abundant vegetation, have endowed Abu with a pleasant climate. It is a resort as well as a celebrated place of pilgrimage. Afternoon visit world famous Dilwara Jain Temple- consisting of five Jain temples built from the beginning of the 11th century onwards with intricate ornamental carvings Peace Park, Gyan Sarovar. Evening visit the sunset point to see the spectacular sunset over the mountain. Day 11 Mount Abu – Ranakpur – Udaipur 175 kms /3 hrs After breakfast leave for Udaipur. Enroute visit to Ranakpur temples of the Jains, built in the 15th century in the lovely valley of Aravallis. It has grand structure & beautiful Sculptures. The magic of light & shade is really awe- inspiring. The Ranakpur Jain Temple was built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement covers 48,000 sq. feet area. Day 12 In Udaipur Today sightseeing of Udaipur includes The City Palace, drive around Fateh Sagar Lake, Sahelion-ki-Bari (The fountain and flowered garden of Maidens), and Partap Smarak: A memorial to the legendary warrior Rana Pratap, Bhartiya Lok Mandal Museum. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Evening is free for own activities. Overnight stay. Day 13 Udaipur – Ajmer/ Pushkar 310 / kms 7 hrs Morning country side drive to Pushkar – holy City of Pushkar, town of pilgrimage of the Moslems and Hindus. Thousands of Moslem pilgrims come has Ajmer of the four corners of the world to profit from the grace of the saint (Kwaja) Moiniddine Chisti (1143-1235). The popular tradition said that seven pilgrimages have Ajmer equalize a pilgrimage in Mecque continuation by the visit of the Mosques of Akbar, Jehan Shah, Dargah and Mazar. Then you will admire the palate of King Akbar who became since a museum. Later Return to Jaipur for overnight stay. Day 14 Pushkar – Jaipur 130 kms / 2 hrs Morning visit to Pushkar lake and lord Brahma temple. Later drive to Jaipur. Jaipur – once the capital of Rajasthan province, “the abode of rajahs.” Everywhere you will see the monuments of its Rajput rulers. It has the distinction of being a well planned and laid out city. As you drive through the old part of town, you will witness a life most unlike others. Witness how the city blooms during the day in a kaleidoscope of color and sound. Jaipur is one of the main centers for shopping in India – especially with regard to textiles, jewellery, stones carpets; etc. Remainder of the day is free for rest and relaxes. Day 15 In Jaipur After early breakfast, Journey back in time at deserted 17th century fortress of Amber Fort. 11 Kms. from Jaipur, Amber Fort is a marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake below. Go up the fort on the back of a gaily-caparisoned elephant true to the style of the Maharajas of the past. The interiors of the fort have various royal halls decorated with intricate ivory, mirror and glasswork complemented by exquisite wall paintings. As you move between the rooms of this magnificent structure you feel the history and visualize the pomp and grandeur of a kingdom never conquered. After lunch venture back into the city tour: Visit the City Palace Museum where you can see imposing blends of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princes, carpets, an armory of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and processions, Also visit the awe inspiring Jantar Mantar (an accurate observatory built in 1726 AD). Also included is a photo visit at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five-storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires. Day 16 Jaipur – Ranthambhore 175 kms / 3 hrs After breakfast proceed to Ranthambhor National Park provides a unique experience of life in the outdoors. Spread over 392 sq. km., the Park comprises dry deciduous forests sprawling over an undulating terrain of the Aravalli and Vindhyan ranges. Exotic wildlife abounds and thrills the nature and wildlife lover. Ranthambhore Sanctuary has a large number of Tigers, Leopards, Caracals, Jungle Casts, Sambhar, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara, Langoor, Wild Boars, Peafowl, etc. Three beautiful and artificial lakes i.e., Padam Talab, Rajbagh and Milak Talab & many anicuts are part of this Park inviting many migratory birds like Greyleg, Ruddy Shelduck, Pintails and many others. The park provides a rare and exquisite experience of seeing Nature and its flora and fauna at its best.
Day 17 In Ranthambhore Early morning wild life spotting in an open canter safari bus with trained naturalist with Italian Guide is an unforgotten experience. Later visit to 13thCentaury historical Ranthambhore fort surrounded by the Vindhyas and Aravallis, amidst vast arid denuded tracts of Rajasthan, lies the Oasis of Biomass in an Ecological desert, the great Ranthambhore, the most eminent ruler of the Fort was Rao Hamir who ruled around 1296 A.D. There are various places of Historical Places inside the fort namely Toran Dwar, Mahadeo Chhatri, Sameton KiHaveli, 32-Pillard Chhatri, Mosque & the Ganesh Temple, the biggest attraction of the Fort. Afternoon another 3 hrs Canter drive for game viewing deep into the Jungle. Day 18 Jaipur - Agra 232 kms / 5 hrs After breakfast proceed to Agra. On the way you will visit Fatehpur Sikri – the deserted red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. Ponder the mysterious desertion of this capital city that was dramatically abandoned a few years after it was built. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its ‘ruins’ are still in a pristine condition. It is not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur of Shah Jehan, mastermind of the unforgettable Taj Mahal. Upon arrive check in Hotel. Overnight stay. Day 19 In Agra Today visit to Agra Fort – built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D., the fort is a masterpiece of design and construction. Within the fort are a number of exquisite buildings, including the Moti Masjid, Diwane-I-Am, Diwane-I-Khas and Musamman Burj, where the Emperor Shah Jahan died in imprisonment, besides Jahangir’s Palace, Khaas Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. Itmad-ud-Daulah built by Empress Noor Jehan in the memory of Her Father. Enjoy the Magnificent Taj Mahal – The Monument of Love in the warm glow of Sunset, which was built in 1630 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1631, and is believed to have taken 18 years to complete, with over 20,000 craftsmen working around the clock. The design and construction is said to be that of the legendary architect, Its marble exterior reflects rose and golden tints at sunrise and sunset, while it is dazzling white during the day. It is impossible to visualize the Taj Mahal in any surrounding others than its paradoxical garden. Paradise, As you drive through the city witness the local life and bazaars (markets) and the hustle bustle of everyday India. Agra is famous for Marble Items.
